Code of Conduct

ETSC is committed to the pursuit of excellence in learning, teaching and community engagement. This commitment is underpinned by an expectation that all students and members of ETSC will conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the ETSC’s values such as:
  •   An obligation to act with integrity.
  •   An obligation to use and care for ETSC’s resources in a lawful and appropriate manner.
  •   An obligation to actively participate in the learning process.
  •   An obligation to ensure that activities are conducted safely and do not place others at risk of harm.
  •   An obligation to treat everyone with courtesy, tolerance and respect.
  •   An obligation to maintain confidentiality of information.
Evidence of these values include: 
  •   Conducting oneself honestly and in good faith.
  •   Maintaining consistent school policies and actions.
  •   Keeping classrooms tidy and neat, blackboards are cleaned, desks and chairs are returned to its original place, only your belongings are packed away, rubbish is cleared, and lights are switched off.
  •   Having food or drinks in designated areas.
  •   Using resources provided in a lawful and appropriate manner.
  •   Allowing for the learning of other students without interruption.
  •   Leaving electronic devices outside the classroom.
  •   Attending school regularly.
  •   Attempting all tasks with pride and diligence.
  •   Giving recognition to students’ efforts and acknowledging their strengths and abilities.
  •   Celebrating school community achievements.
  •   Listening to others without interrupting.
  •   Affirming cultural diversity.
  •   Contributing to class discussion.
  •   Communicating accurately on school reports to parents.
  •   Behaving in a manner that keeps you and others safe at all times.
  •   Playing in designated areas.
  •   Observing rules on out of bounds areas such as roads, car parks, or other unsupervised areas.
  •   Reporting all incidents and suspicious activities including vandalism.
  •   Treating others with respect. Bullying is not tolerated.
  •   Caring for your property and the property of others.
  •   Labeling your belongings.
  •   Respecting and following the instructions of teachers and others in authority.
  •   Maintaining confidential information.
  •   Working together to reinforce appropriate behavior and strategies if rules are broken.
